Blender
Blender is a app in the osFoundry community catalog. Full Blender 3.4 (Debian Bookworm build) streamed in your browser via KasmVNC. Model, sculpt, UV-unwrap, animate, and render — the real native Linux app runs inside the container; your browser is the viewport. Projects, preferences, and add-ons persist on the storage volume under /config.

Documentation
# Blender
Native Blender running inside a streamed KasmVNC desktop.
## Version
Debian Bookworm Blender **3.4.1**. Stable and complete, but a generation behind upstream 4.x — EEVEE-Next and newer Cycles features are not present.
## Persistence
`/config` is the in-session user's home. Preferences live at `/config/.config/blender/`, your project files anywhere you save them under `/config/`. 20 GB volume default — bump for asset-heavy work.
## Performance & limits
- Modelling, sculpting, UV, rigging, animation: **fine**.
- EEVEE viewport on complex scenes: **slow** (software GL).
- Cycles CPU renders: **work**, but slow — no GPU.
- For production renders, install osFoundry's desktop client and run Blender natively on your GPU.
## First launch
The splash screen appears once; pick your shortcut preset, click Save New Settings, and it persists.
How to use Blender in osFoundry
Install Blender into your workspace in one click, then fork it in osStudio to customise the prompts, tools, or configuration for your stack. Anyone in your workspace can pick up where you left off.
