## Why streamed VLC is mostly a curiosity
For *playing media you own*, the native osFoundry desktop client is dramatically better — every frame travels over the KasmVNC stream otherwise. Useful streamed cases:
- Quick file inspection from inside a container session
- Trying VLC features without local install
- Capture/recording workflows that consume the sandbox display
For actual viewing: install VLC natively or use the Jellyfin (#121) media server.
