# Flashcards Sync Server
Self-hosted Anki sync server.
## How it works
Anki is famous as a **flashcards desktop app** (Anki / AnkiMobile / AnkiDroid). Cloud sync is normally provided by **AnkiWeb** (the official paid service). This room app runs the OSS **anki-sync-server** so you control the sync endpoint:
1. Run this app — your private sync endpoint is `https://your-instance/`
2. In your Anki clients, set the custom sync server URL to point here
3. Your decks, reviews, and media sync to your server, not ankiweb.net
