KiCad

KiCad は osFoundry コミュニティカタログのアプリです。KasmVNC経由でブラウザにストリーミングされる、フル機能のKiCad 6 EDAスイート(回路図キャプチャ、PCBレイアウト、3Dビューア、Gerberエクスポート)です。本物のネイティブLinuxアプリがコンテナ内で動作し、ブラウザがキャンバスとなります。標準のシンボル、フットプリント、3Dモデルライブラリを同梱しています。プロジェクトと設定は/config配下のストレージボリュームに永続化されます。

# KiCad

Native KiCad running inside a streamed KasmVNC desktop.

## Version
Debian Bookworm KiCad **6.0.11** (previous LTS). Projects from 6 open in 7/8; the reverse is not true. Fine for the vast majority of hobby and small-team PCB work.

## Persistence
`/config` is the in-session user's home. Global config (symbol/footprint library tables, hotkeys) lives at `/config/.config/kicad/`. Save your projects anywhere under `/config/`.

## Libraries
Standard KiCad symbol, footprint, and 3D-model packs are pre-installed via `kicad-libraries`. Custom libraries can be added through Preferences → Manage Symbol Libraries.

## First launch
KiCad will prompt to configure the Global Symbol and Footprint Library Tables — pick the default ("Copy default global symbol library table"). It saves the choice and never asks again.

## Performance
KiCad is wxWidgets + OpenGL accelerated. Software GL inside KasmVNC handles small/medium boards comfortably; very dense 6+ layer boards with 3D viewer rotated continuously will be sluggish.
