osFoundry / Platform
Email
A real email client built into the platform — many accounts, agents can read and reply.
What it is
Email in osFoundry is a real email client that lives inside your workspace, not a notification feed or a thin integration. You connect your actual mailboxes — personal, work, and shared accounts — and read, search, and send from all of them in one place, next to your chats, agents, apps, code, and data. Because osFoundry is a local-first desktop workspace, your mail can be read and worked with on your own device rather than routed through a vendor's servers.
What sets it apart is that agents can operate on your inbox the same way you can. An agent can read incoming messages, understand a thread, draft a reply in your voice, and send it — or hold it for your review. Since osFoundry is bring-your-own-key, any drafting or triage the agent does runs on a model you choose and pay for directly (local, cloud, or self-hosted), with no reseller markup and no per-seat fee. You decide which account an agent can touch and whether it sends on its own or only prepares a draft.
Accounts connect over standard protocols — Microsoft and Google mailboxes, or any provider via IMAP with an app password — so you are not locked into a single email host. The result is one workspace where your email, the AI that helps you handle it, and the knowledge and tools it needs all sit together, instead of being scattered across a browser tab, a separate assistant, and a pile of copy-paste.
Key capabilities
- Connect multiple email accounts — Microsoft, Google, or any IMAP provider — and read and send from all of them in one client
- Let AI agents read incoming mail, follow a thread, and draft or send replies for you
- Choose per account whether an agent sends automatically or only prepares a draft for your review
- Runs on your own API keys — any model, local, cloud, or self-hosted, with no reseller markup or per-seat fee
- Local-first desktop workspace: your mail stays on your device, alongside chat, agents, apps, code, and data
Use cases
- Founder juggling inboxes: connects a personal and two company accounts and lets an agent triage overnight mail into replies to approve each morning
- Support lead: points an agent at the shared support mailbox to draft first-response replies from past threads, holding each for human sign-off
- Privacy-conscious consultant: keeps client email on their own device and runs an on-device model to summarize and draft, so message contents never leave their machine
Frequently asked questions
Which email providers can I connect?
Microsoft and Google mailboxes connect directly, and any other provider works over IMAP using an app password. You can add several accounts and use them side by side in the same client.
Can agents actually send email, or only read it?
Both. An agent can read a message, draft a reply, and send it. You control the boundary per account — let it send on its own, or have it prepare drafts that you review and send yourself.
Which AI model handles the drafting and does osFoundry charge for it?
osFoundry is bring-your-own-key, so agents run on a model you choose — local, cloud, or self-hosted — billed directly by that provider with no reseller markup. There is no per-seat fee for using the email client.
