Notes — Slides
Build presentations alongside your docs. Same workspace, same Maestro, no PowerPoint.
What it is
Notes — Slides is the presentation surface inside osFoundry's workspace. It sits next to your documents rather than in a separate app, so the outline you wrote as a note and the deck you present from live in the same place. You draft a note, then turn its structure into slides without exporting, re-importing, or bouncing into PowerPoint. Because it is part of the workspace, a deck can reference the same knowledge, files, and chat threads you already have open.
The work runs through Maestro, the same AI assistant you use everywhere else in osFoundry, driven by your own model key. You point Maestro at a note or a set of docs and ask it to build the deck — pull the section headings into slide titles, condense a long paragraph into talking points, or reshape a rough outline into a running order. Since osFoundry is bring-your-own-key, those drafting requests hit whatever model you connected (local, cloud, or self-hosted) at that provider's own price, with no reseller markup on top. On a local model, the source text and the generated slides can stay on your device.
This matters because presentation work is usually split across tools: notes in one app, slides in another, an AI helper bolted onto each. osFoundry collapses that into one workspace with one assistant and one billing relationship — your API keys. There are no per-seat fees, so the cost of drafting a deck is the cost of the tokens your own key spends, not a subscription per person. If your material is sensitive, keeping the whole loop — notes, model, and slides — on a desktop you control is a real option rather than a compliance footnote.
Key capabilities
- Build slides in the same workspace as your notes and docs — no exporting to a separate presentation app
- Ask Maestro to draft a deck from an existing note: headings become slide titles, paragraphs become talking points
- Runs on your own model key (local, cloud, or self-hosted) at provider cost, with no reseller markup
- Keep the whole loop — source docs, the model, and the finished slides — on your device when you use a local model
- No PowerPoint license and no per-seat fees; the only cost is the tokens your own key spends
Use cases
- Consultant: turns a client research note into a first-draft pitch deck without leaving the workspace or opening PowerPoint
- Privacy-conscious researcher: drafts slides from confidential documents on a local model so nothing leaves the desktop
- Team lead: keeps a project's notes and its status deck in one place so the presentation always reflects the latest docs
Frequently asked questions
Do I need PowerPoint or a Microsoft license to use this?
No. Notes — Slides is a native surface inside the osFoundry workspace, so you build and edit presentations without PowerPoint, Google Slides, or any separate license. The seed positioning is exactly this: same workspace, same assistant, no PowerPoint.
How does the AI actually build the slides?
You direct Maestro, osFoundry's built-in assistant, at a note or set of docs and ask it to draft the deck — for example, promote headings to slide titles or condense sections into bullet points. It uses whatever model you connected with your own key, so the quality and cost depend on the model you choose.
Can I keep my content private while drafting a deck?
Yes, if you draft with a local model. osFoundry is local-first and BYOK, so when the model runs on your device the source documents and the generated slides can stay there rather than being sent to a third-party cloud.
