# Live Audio Streaming
Streaming audio server, powered by Icecast.
## How it works
Icecast is a **streaming relay server** — it doesn't generate audio itself. You push audio in from a **source client** (Liquidsoap, BUTT, MIXXX, or the bundled AzuraCast (#198) which uses Liquidsoap under the hood), and Icecast relays the stream to many listeners.
