## Why pick this vs the lightweight Vaultwarden alternative
The **official** Bitwarden Server includes features Vaultwarden doesn't — Send, emergency access, breach reports, organisation policies, SSO with on-prem identity providers. It's heavier (several .NET services) but matches the cloud product 1:1. If you want a small footprint and only need the core vault, use the **Password Vault (Lightweight)** room app (#152 Vaultwarden) instead.

## Setup gotcha — installation ID + key
Bitwarden requires an installation ID + key (free from <https://bitwarden.com/host>) for push notifications + breach reports. Without them, the vault works but push notifications to mobile clients don't.
## Packaging
All-in-one build using the official **`bitwarden/self-host`** unified container — collapses what used to be a 6-image compose into one image. Bundled MariaDB on the volume; vault data + attachments + identity certs on `/data`. Admin Portal at `/admin` (gated by `ADMIN_TOKEN` generated on first boot).
